If you’re considering counselling, taking that first step can feel daunting. You may not know exactly what you need, or even where to begin. My aim is to offer you a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and explore whatever is troubling you.
Supporting people has always been at the heart of what I do. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years as a business owner working in recruitment, training and people development. I supported individuals through periods of change, helped build confidence and encouraged personal and professional growth.
Those experiences taught me that everyone has their own story, and that sometimes simply feeling genuinely heard and understood can make an enormous difference.
My passion for helping others eventually led me to retrain as a counsellor. I completed four years of professional training, achieving my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing professional training and am currently undertaking Level 5 training in Counselling Children and Young People.
Alongside my counselling qualifications, I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies, giving me a valuable understanding of workplace pressures, career challenges and the many demands that modern life can place upon us.
Today, I work with adults, young people and children aged five years and above, offering a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a Trauma-Informed Counsellor within a specialist charity, supporting survivors of rape, sexual abuse and domestic abuse.
This experience has given me a deep appreciation of the lasting impact that trauma can have, as well as the courage it can take to seek support. I understand that healing cannot be rushed, which is why emotional safety, trust and choice are central to my work.
I also work therapeutically for a Young Persons Charity with children and young people aged five and above, supporting them with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and personal challenges. These can include anxiety, low self-esteem, family changes, school-related difficulties and the effects of difficult or distressing life experiences.
Whether I am working with an adult, teenager or child, my aim is always the same: to create a space where you feel accepted, understood and supported without judgement.
My work is grounded in a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, placing empathy, trust and collaboration at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that meaningful change begins when we feel safe enough to be honest about what we are experiencing.
Rather than telling you what to do or giving you advice, I offer a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences openly. Together, we can work towards a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and the things that may be affecting your wellbeing.
Where appropriate, I may also gently incorporate coaching techniques to support confidence, personal development and positive change. However, your emotional wellbeing and individual needs will always remain at the centre of our work together.
Counselling is not about having all the answers. It is about having the opportunity to pause, be heard and explore what is happening for you in a safe and supportive environment.
Whatever has brought you to counselling, you do not have to work through it alone.
Your journey matters, and I’m here to walk alongside you.
